At first I was bummed that I waited so long to get my pistol permit that I would now have to take an 18hr class with a greater cost to get a concealed carry permit. However, my thoughts changed really quickly after my first day of the class. Throughout the 18hr course, Matt delivered invaluable information related to firearm safety, NYS penal law, the recent NYS changes, federal law, and much more. He used past cases (several that you may be familiar with) on use-of-force to get you into critical thinking on how you can be best prepared for a situation or even to prevent being in that situation at all. This class is something one may consider even if they already have a concealed carry with no LE or military experience. Class is fast paced, but PowerPoints are clear and concise. Matt encourages participation and periodically checks in to see if you have any questions. He injects humor into the classroom at appropriate times which makes the learning environment great. To make a long story short, consider making time in your schedule to get a refresher or to learn material that will make you a safer permit holder.”
